Low Vision Clinic

People with visual impairments which cannot be adequately improved medically, surgically, or with conventional eyeglasses are often helped by working with a Low Vision Specialist. The Low Vision Specialist conducts low vision examinations, prescribes the latest and most effective optical aids and provides hands-on instruction in using these devices. The Low Vision Specialist will make recommendations as to which devices will enable the patient to maximize the use of their remaining eyesight. The Low Vision Specialist may prescribe a variety of items, including powerful magnifiers for close-up reading, special lenses for distant viewing, as well as devices to increase contrast, reduce glare, and enhance illumination.
